SDK Extended Maintenance Service (SEMS)

Silicon Labs provides IoT device makers extended SDK maintenance support. Keeping an SDK branch updated with critical security patches and bug fixes for up to 10 years beyond initial release.

IoT Security Challenge

Security has become the biggest challenge for IoT device makers. New vulnerabilities surface at an increasing pace.

How can you protect users’ privacy and earn their trust year in year out? A single breach is enough to impact your revenues and brand materially, and ever more sophisticated attacks are developed daily. Even if your device is secure today doesn’t mean that you are covered tomorrow. Security is never ready.

Maintaining software, security, and device certifications up to date requires constant development. However, technology evolution accelerates, narrowing down codebase maintenance windows. Stabilizing software and getting support for, say, ten years is difficult and costly.

What is SDK Extended Maintenance Service?

Silicon Labs provides IoT device makers SDK maintenance support keeping an SDK branch updated with critical security patches and bug fixes for up to 10 years beyond initial release.

SEMS now significantly extends your software stability with Silicon Labs. It guarantees long-term support for up to 10 years beyond initial release through through quality control regression testing for the SDK branch under contract for up to three SoC part numbers.
